Hilltop Walleye

Posted by on Monday, June 29, 2009 at 6:55 am

Larry Strangstalien has been fishing with us for many years.  On Hilltop Lake, his luck (or should I say skill) has proved to remain strong.

I know Larry will expound greatly on the skill part, but being on the right lake makes the success part of large walleye much more likely.  I am often asked which ...read more.

Seseganaga trout

Seseganaga Lake never lets us down.  Walleye, northern and lake trout make this a fisherman’s delight.

Finally!

Posted by on Monday, May 18, 2009 at 7:25 am

Catching walleye in our lakes is never difficult.  In fact on opening weekend, it amazes me that a camp could be vacant.  In any case, setting up a camp after the opening of walleye sometimes offers the opportunity to research our product and develop new techniques.  It also seems to produce more folks who like to help with the chores.

Winter delight

Posted by on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 7:50 am

Even tho’ we are looking forward to summer, there is no reason we can’t enjoy a little of the bounty of our lakes in the winter. It is often cold in our part of the woods during the winter, but as spring approaches we have both nice weather and great conditions for ice fishing.

Shore Lunch with RD

Posted by on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 6:12 pm

One of the highlights of any fishing trip with Ignace Outposts is the proverbial shore lunch. At this time of year my mouth waters with anticipation of fresh, still quivering walleye fillets cooking with potatoes and the ubiquitous pork and beans.

Here Rd of Officially Rugged fame shows how it is done.

Calgary Sport Show

I just returned from Calgary Alberta – home of the world’s largest rodeo.  We did a sport show there last week.  It is amazing, but even tho’ we live in Ontario, it takes less time to drive to Calgary than  it does to Toronto.
