Better Late than never

Jeff Wideman visited us in August. Jeff brings a Wisconsin contingent to Metionga Lake each summer. Sometimes even the “chief in charge” manages to impress the boys with a nice fish or two.

Putting a picture like this on the office wall or desk will bring accolades – particularly from underlings.

See you next summer Jeff.

Brad and more.

Ed Pierce returning from trip # 30

Ed Peirce made his first trip to visit us in 1987. Today he returned from Metionga Lake completing his 30th fishing adventure with us. Since Ed averages about 500 walleye caught and released per week (and yes he does keep count) that translates into about 15,000 walleye over the years. When more.

A note from a two-time a year guest.

“My group has been flying into various lakes with Brad and Karen for seven years now, but we always make our August trip to Metionga. This, our 13th overall trip, was the best ever. The fishing was simply outrageous !!! In seven days, six fishermen caught something in excess of more.

Head to head on Metionga

Posted by on Friday, August 29, 2008 at 7:59 am

I guess the jury is still out. They both claim 26 inchers on Metionga Lake last week.

They didn’t ask me for a ruling but I will give one anyway.

The only way to settle this is to return again next year and try again. Tom brings his crew twice a year anyway but since they are all now retired, more.

Low and Over

These birds have to be one of the most majestic in the sky. Considering they were once endangered, we do see plenty of eagles these days. One of our Metionga Lake guests from last week emailed these photos of an eagle cleaning up some fish offal.

In nature everything is part of a cycle. Any fish remains are quickly returned more.
