The Bat House

This original Metionga Lake cabin was not named after the caped crusader.  It actually had a fair population of bats.  I understand they did keep the mosquito population under control but it was quite the trade off.   You would have to be sure to sleep with either a fly swatter or a tennis racket within reach.

In the 90’s the more.

Dressed for success

We can honestly say we don’t hire our staff for their fashion sense.  In fact I think we have had some very colorful people working for us over the years.

On the right is Fern our Seseganaga Lake camp attendant in 1987.  He was also our attendant at Metionga more.

Shows by the decades

One of the best parts of this business lifestyle is the variation in our job as the year progresses.  In the summer we are fishing experts, bush pilots, and hosts.  In the winter we are sales people and office staff.

Sportshows have been a part of our life for the last 30 years.  We are are in Chicago on the more.

Can you name this camp attendant?

In the 1990s we had this fellow as a camp attendant on Metionga Lake.   He was with us at Metionga for 3 seasons and many guests remember him as an university student studying to be a high school teacher. He is close to retirement from his teaching job in Manitoba now.

Throw Back Thursday

Karen has been pushing me to keep my promise of more blog posts.  My challenge is to come up with new stuff on a regular basis.  I think the best way to get new stuff is to use some old stuff.   We have 30 years under our belt so old stuff should be easy to find.  A good handful of more.
