The toughest landing

When conditions are like this, landing a seaplane is tough.  Glassy water requires precise technique and skill.

Only a few weeks away!

The requirement for boat operators to have proof of competency (a boat operators card) to operate a boat in Canada is only a few weeks away. As of Sept 15 this card is required to drive a fishing boat too. There is no grandfathering provision. I highly recommend that if you don’t have the card that you get one in ...read more.

I hate to harp on this but…

As you may be aware, the US has legislated passports for land travel into the US as of June 1, 2009.  This means a passport is needed to return home to the US even if you are a US citizen.

On June 1, 2009, the U.S. government will implement the full requirements of the land and sea phase of Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative . The proposed rules require most U.S. citizens entering the United States at sea or land ports of entry to have a passport, passport card, or WHTI-compliant document .
