Even tho’ I see this type of view almost daily, I am still impressed. The Northwestern part of Ontario is magnificent to say the least.

If you haven’t seen this type of wilderness yourself, give us a call or send an email . We’d love to help you plan your Ignace Outpost vacation.

We not only fly you over more.

Booked for another year

Posted by on Monday, June 1, 2009 at 7:51 am

When the much anticipated fishing trip is over, parting seems such a sweet sorrow.  These fellas from Wisc have made well over a dozen years in a row, but even before they load the vehicle to drive home, they are booked in for another year.

One the greatest satisfactions of almost a quarter century running one of more.

Brad is SICK!

Posted by on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 6:43 am

Yes, I am sick. Nothing to do with H1N1 or other exotic virus. I have that annual sickness that strikes on the third Sat in May. I have a bad case of “Walleye Fever”. This illness manifests itself like clockwork and leaves me in a state of duress until the remedy is applied. What makes it more severe for me more.

past and present

Flindt Lake cabin in it’s pre 1996 days.

In years gone by, a cabin was just a roof over your head. One room, bunks along the wall, mice for room mates, stuffy, mosquitoes travelling through the wall at will, and a hot plate for cooking was the order of the day.

Flindt lake was one of more.

What if I don’t like to fish or hunt?

Posted by on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at 8:45 am

Enjoying the remote wilderness is not contingent on fishing and hunting. We have canoes at our camps and exploring the shore line, viewing wildlife (moose, bear, eagles, owls, caribou, beavers etc.) and picking berries are all part of the experience. Bring a few good books and some suntan lotion and take advantage of the solitude and peace of nature at more.

Through the eyes of a child

For those who think an Ignace Outposts trip is nothing more than fishing.

The Holzer family from Wisconsin have vacationed with us for many years. This fall, after their August family trip, Amy, their 10 year old daughter (5th grade) wrote the following piece for a school project on descriptive writing about her favorite place.

It is interesting more.

Take a break

Posted by on Monday, December 1, 2008 at 8:01 am

According to the dictionary a “vacation” is “a period of suspension of work, study, or other activity, usually used for rest, recreation, or travel”. Take note of the suspension of work part.

We live in world of connectivity. We some how feel we must be in touch. With what? Stress is built upon feeling important enough that we can’t be more.
