Catch of the day

Dehavilland named its aircraft wisely after animals. The DHC-3 is known as the Otter. Our Otter aircraft is devoted to putting fishermen and fish together. Flying in to some of Ontario’s best fishing is what this aircraft was designed to do.

The otter animal also has a close affiliation to fish.   Karen got these shots this morning of an more.

Opening week

Posted by on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 3:01 pm

The first week of our 2012 season is behind us.  It was a tough week of weather with rain, wind, cold and hot.  Virtually one of the worst opening weeks of weather we’ve seen – the only saving virtue was no snow.  Fishing was hit and miss.  Walleye were plentiful on our north lakes but depth of the fish varied more.

No need to pout

After I released my umpteenth (that’s a big number I made up) walleye and Dave lost his umpteenth jig to another “steam dog” (a term of endearment for a northern pike which takes your lure and runs), Dave took time out to pout.

Hey Dave, it still beats being at work – wouldn’t you more.

Until Thursday last week Karen and I had not had a chance to go fishing.  It is hard to believe that running one of the finest fly in fishing businesses in Canada, we don’t get much chance to enjoy the resources ourselves.  This summer has been a little more work for us with less staff to counteract world economic factors. more.

“Tip the guide”

I just got back from the Minneapolis All Canada Sport Show.

I brought my dad with me to help out in the booth and provide a little company.  Besides Karen and me, I don’t think there is anyone as passionate about our business as my dad. Maybe it’s because I’m his son, maybe it’s because he loves fishing, and maybe more.

Nov 2/2009  via email

Hi, Brad & Karen,

I just thought I would drop a note to tell you how much we enjoyed our fishing trip this summer. The cabin was in good shape as always & Joe stopped in for coffee about every morning to tell us any news. The fishing was a little slow for the first more.

Mid Sept double header

Last weekend, Sept 18 to 20 saw some of the best weather of the summer.  The fishing was absolutely amazing.  I was at Seseganaga Lake to paint some floors and do some other odd jobs (digging outhouse holes) but couldn’t help myself from getting out on the lake too.  Literally, the jig couldn’t hit the bottom before a walleye was more.
