Sunset storm

When you have some valuable equipment tied to the dock outside your home, you tend to keep your eye on the sky (and the weather radar!)

Sunday evening, we noticed a line of heavy rain headed our way and went out to check that lines on the aircraft were secure.

After the rain and winds passed, the sun peeked out more.

Happy New Year 2014

Posted by on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at 4:15 pm

Happy New Year and all the best to our friends and guests.  We are looking forward to another great year providing memorable and high quality Ignace Outposts fly in fishing trips in 2014.

2014 began in Ignace with a little coolness.  This is what we woke up to this morning.  I suppose temps can only go up from here.

Hot to cold

Posted by on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 6:19 am

On Saturday records fell across NW Ontario as we saw temperatures in the 30 + C range (high 80’s F) and yesterday morning we had snow flurries with overnight temps below freezing.

If you don’t like the weather in our area, stick around a bit.  It will change.

It appears fall has arrived and with it the more.

Ice In!

ice in 09

Those who have followed our adventures here in Ignace for a while, know that we get rather excited when the ice goes out in the spring. Six months of hard water is enough.  But, ironically enough we also look forward to ice in.  The lake froze over last night.  This is about 2 to 3 weeks later than more.

July? We are happy it’s over!

Posted by on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 6:48 am

We’ve been fighting the weather this whole summer. July really wasn’t much of a summer month. I don’t think we even hit temperatures that came close to seasonal. Yesterday morning we could see our breath. The month of July has been more like Sept or early Oct. No sun tans among our crew. I am wearing a sweat shirt and more.

Has summer finally arrived?

Posted by on Monday, June 15, 2009 at 7:26 am

Yesterday evening we noticed it was actually warmer outside than inside our house. The forecast for this coming week looks good for being outside and of course that is where the fish are. Over this weekend we moved many groups both into and out of the bush. The consensus of those returning has been that the walleye are finally returning more.
