It is not often that our aircraft get to be on wheels. In 1993 when we had our Beaver painted, it was flown on wheels from Ignace to Cambridge Minnesota by Randy and Brad. It was painted the yellow we recognize it today and then flown back to be put back on floats. I think the aircraft is more comfortable on floats and it has been on floats ever since.
To explain the photo, because the lake was not yet frozen, the Beaver had to be dragged down the road to an old airstrip in order to take off. When it returned in the spring, Randy simply landed it on the ice in front of our base.
