Our summer season is approaching quickly.  In a month we’ll be getting camps ready and flying out our first guests.  Before things get too hectic Karen and I are visiting our daughter, son-in-law and two grandsons near Vancouver BC.   With the 2010 winter Olympics being hosted in Vancouver next winter, Whistler ski hills will be a booming place.  As we more.

For those who think an Ignace Outposts trip is nothing more than fishing.

The Holzer family from Wisconsin have vacationed with us for many years. This fall, after their August family trip, Amy, their 10 year old daughter (5th grade) wrote the following piece for a school project on descriptive writing about her favorite place.

Lindor’s wisdom

Our chocolate Lab Lindor gives the impression that a bag of hammers is slightly smarter than he is. In actuality he oozes wisdom. Here are a few things he has taught us over the years.

When loved ones come home, always get up to greet them. Take naps. Stretch before rising. Run, romp, and play daily. Avoid biting when more.

Son-in-law or not…

While visiting from BC, my son-in-law Scott wanted to catch a ride to our Flindt Lake cabin last weekend to exercise his walleye muscles. Living on the west coast offers him limited walleye exercising time. I capitulated to his request but reminded him of how empty the wood shed often is at this time of year.
