The Lehman Party from Iowa has been making an annual trip with us for many years.   Jim, the group kahuna, shows off how it is done.

Metionga Lake Pike 11

Catching and releasing pike like this is all just part of the fun on Metionga Lake

I know too many guys who live to work.  Take a little time and turn more.

Seseganaga Northern Action

Tom and his buddies – retired Chicago cops – make an annual trip to Seseganaga in mid July.  They love to eat walleye but fighting northern pike are high on the list of things to do.

Bringing in a large northern must remind them of bringing in the bad guys when they more.

A “little” teaser from last summer

Who ever said fishing is slow in mid summer?  As we are beginning our 2010 season, I received this picture and note from a guest who visited Metionga Lake last July.

“Just wanted to pass along a picture of the 45" Northern I caught in July 2009 on Lake Metionga. We had a great week of fishing in spite of more.

A change in the regs

Posted by on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at 6:02 pm

Ontario has re-organized its fishing regulation areas from divisions to zones.  M etionga Lake falls within Zone 6 .  It is the only one of our lakes to be in this new Zone.  The regulations for this zone have changed regarding Northern Pike.  The new regulation has done away with the slot size restriction.  The no-keep between 27 inches and 36 inches is no longer more.

Hi, Brad & Karen,

I just thought I would drop a note to tell you how much we enjoyed our fishing trip this summer. The cabin was in good shape as always & Joe stopped in for coffee about every morning to tell us any news. The fishing was a little slow for the first more.

Two for one

Posted by on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 7:00 am

A couple of days ago I wrote about a walleye pigging out on a burbot and then taking a jig as well.  This northern decided he wanted lunch more than the fisherman.  Northern don’t fish for sport so we see this type of action often.  It is a thrill to be bringing up a nice walleye and then all of more.
