April Fools

April 1st is well known as April Fools Day.  It does sometime happen that the joke is really upon us with the weather. 

Al Gore better get back to his data to re-evaluate this global warming thing.  On days like this I kinda wish we could have more of it.

Sport Show Circuit

We have been on the road most of January promoting our fly in fishing trips in the mid west USA.  This week we are in Madison Wisc and then move to Green Bay for the weekend.

Heading south again

We haven’t even got the salt off the vehicle from our last run to sport shows.  We loaded up again and are off to the All Canada Milwaukee, Madison and Green Bay shows on this swing.

Christmas Dinner

Last evening, Randy, Joe and John braved the cold and stopped by with their wives to join us in our home for our annual Christmas dinner. Karen’s folks also joined us.

It was a nice evening featuring Salmon Wellington, hot bacon spinach salad and wild cranberry/pecan pie. (we don’t eat walleye all the time).

Thanksgiving

Today is our Canadian Thanksgiving. Here in Ignace, we had our turkey yesterday with friends and family. Today is back to work and left overs. Our moose hunters are all in the bush and we suspect we’ll be flying out moose soon. It has rained for the last 5 days and today looks like another wet one.

Wild Cranberries

One week today is our Canadian Thanksgiving. Here in the north we celebrate our Thanksgiving a month or so earlier than our US friends. This allows us to consume our turkey and other fixings well in time to let it settle and digest before we start thinking about Christmas.
